posting less

Why Posting Less Is The Loudest Way To Do Marketing (And Sell) In 2026

Before we go into the posting less business, be honest.

What would you choose in this situation:

It’s 5 PM on a Thursday, the unofficial hardest day of the week.

You are finally done for the day, finished with the meetings, the papers, the actual work, and the putting up with Jessie from HR.

They know, deep down, you’ve had nothing to do with the missing coffee pods!

But here you are, ashamed, tired, and frankly, mad!

You’re mad, and that’s fine.

At this time of the afternoon, you’re given two choices.

Number one, the greatest smartphone on the planet, centred in the middle of a busy street in the centre of town, with not only notifications pouring in non-stop on the screen, but also on the walls of the buildings surrounding you. Noise and lights are squashing the remaining of your eyesight into complete oblivion.

Number two, a quiet library, filled with the world’s greatest books, a nice reading chair with a pot of your favourite tea/hot beverage waiting for you to sit down, relax, and dive into another world, literally, for a few hours. Slowly brushing off the dramas and tragedies of the day, pacing page after page into pure bliss.

So, what’s it gonna be, stranger?

The Digital Panic Attack

Most small businesses are terrified of choice number two. They go number one, pun intended, and never even have the courage, or curiosity, to look into option number two.

They see the library, and they panic. Posting less, for example, is a big no-no!

“If I’m not shouting in the street, do I even exist?” they ask.

They think marketing in 2026 is a game of volume. They post five times a day, dance on camera, and use every “trending” sound available. Why?

They are so afraid of the silence.

So much so that they’ve become the noise.

The “Car Alarm” Effect

If this is too long for you to read, here is the TLDR.

Constant noise doesn’t create attention; it creates fatigue.

Think about a car alarm going off in your neighbourhood at 3 AM.

Do you go out to see if someone is stealing the car?

No. You roll over, annoyed, and wait for the noise to stop.

When your business screams at every hour of every day, your audience stops listening. Posting less is not even on the agenda, not even as a research topic. This is why they never engage with you and your content; they just wait for you to go away!

You’re the 3 AM car alarm, or dog barking, or upstairs neighbours having… shawarma.

The Power of the Whisper

In a world of neon lights and digital sirens, the whisper is the ultimate disruptor.

When you speak less, but say more, you imply something powerful.

Authority.

Think about the most expensive brands or the most respected leaders you know.

Do you like the current US president (sorry for getting so political, but it’s literally the easiest example I can think of at this moment!) with his constant blabbing, tweeting and complete madness? Or the one who’s come before him, a certain guy from Chicago who won it twice and was the embodiment of calm, self-awareness, short but powerful discourses and just… goodness?

Are good people, or brand, doing backflips for likes?

No.

They are the library. They are posting less, go figure!

They don’t need to do any circuses in order to catch your interest.

But when they do speak, you listen by default, and out of appreciation, and respect.

In 2026, the most “No Rules” move you can make is giving your audience a moment of peace.

Shut up. And only speak when you have something to say.

An Invitation, Not an Intrusion

You see, sincerity barely needs any volume.

You can’t tell someone a deep truth or share a “handcrafted” story while a megaphone is glued to your face.

Artisanal marketing, the kind that actually builds a legacy, is an invitation.

It’s like that pot of tea in the library.

It doesn’t chase you down the street; it waits for you to be ready. It invites the customer to sit down, stay a while, and actually care.

It’s like me and my content.

I don’t write “noise” for my clients.

I don’t do “digital sirens” or “car alarm” content.

I write the quiet, confident, truthful content that makes a busy person stop scrolling and start breathing. If you’re tired of shouting into the void and want a brand that feels like a sanctuary, not a circus… Let’s talk.

Shoot me an email if you’re looking for a content creator who’s not into viralisation techniques but into writing stuff that is relevant, powerful, catchy and emotion-bursting now and 10 years into the future.
