Why I Decided To Go Fully Random On My Social Media (And Why Your Business Should Too)

If you haven’t noticed thus far, social media and going fully random with it seems like the only option left.

In a sea, an ocean, that is, of craziness, of Reels about this or that and of wanting that dreaded Like or Share from random people who will never buy your service/product, the only logical way to make a difference is to be different.

And how can you do so?

Randomness.

Welcome to 2026, the year in which absolutely no marketing lesson, strategy or manual makes any sense anymore.

I’d learned that the hard way, but you can stay safe from trial and error and enjoy the benefits of this method.

Because, yes, there IS a method to the madness, or to the randomness.

Going back to the roots

Social media is all about sharing somewhat intimate stuff with somewhat intimate people you partially or fully know. This is it, at its very ancient core.

Back at the beginning, posting on Facebook was simply about letting others know what you’re all about.

The same was for Instagram, YouTube, a bit later, and so on and so forth.

Even TikTok, if you’re into that – I’m not – was just like that before the algorithm changed it all up.

Again, and again, and again.

What if we all go back to the roots of it all?

What if, in 2026, we start to use social media not as the algorithm wants us to, but for its primordial purpose, sharing random things with our friends?

My 2026 random but purposeful posting schedule

My Instagram used to have close to 5.000 followers.

Now, I’m at 2.250 something. I can’t even bother looking into it, check it out and let me know if you’d like!

I used to get even 900 likes on one photo.

Or maybe closer to 750 or so, on some picture with the sublime Duomo from Milan.

Now? I barely get 20, 30, maybe 50 likes on a regular post.

Stories are also down in views and Hearts.

This doesn’t bother me. It never did. I am not an influencer, I’m just a guy who writes and takes surprisingly good photos with my 11 Pro Max!

Yet I know what I’m doing now compared to back then.

There’s no more randomness. No more surprise. Nothing people can relate to.

This is why I will post a random set of 10 photos every week this year, pictures about life in general, or from my travels, some nice food porn maybe, anything and everything that happened the week before in my life, professionally and also personally.

Why?

Because randomness is greatly missed nowadays.

Authenticity, as well.

All we want is to get famous, viral, liked and shared.

Yet the content we’re sharing is far from anything having to do with socialising, with showing the good and the bad in our lives, with… being human.

Why is this going to work?

Because the algorithm is basically a bored toddler now.

It’s seen every “Top 5 Tips” post ever made, and it’s currently hovering over the delete button on anything that looks like a polished ad.

When you post something weird, something human, you’re basically a glitch in its system.

It stops.

It gets curious.

And suddenly, because you didn’t try to force a “viral hook” down its throat, the machine decides you’re the most interesting thing in the feed.

Chaos wins.

Applying this to any business

Stop being a logo and start being a random mess.

Seriously, post the pile of unfolded boxes in the corner of the warehouse or the look on your face when the morning coffee hasn’t kicked in yet, even after the third cup.

People buy from people, not from 24-page brand guidelines that nobody actually reads!

If your business looks too perfect, it is perceived as fake.

And it most likely IS fake!

In 2026, fake is the fastest way to get ignored.

Just hit post and stop overthinking it.

Your “unfiltered” Tuesday is way more interesting than your “strategic” Friday.

If you’re too busy actually running a business to spend your afternoon taking “curated” photos of your office printer, just let me do it. I’m the guy with the 11 Pro Max who thrives in this chaos, so let’s turn your boring corporate feed into something people actually want to see. Drop me a message and let’s get weird, much like Harry and Voldemort at the Battle of Hogwarts, together.
